Introducing Viqua Games HideNSeek (Beta)!

29 Aug 2008 - Today we're excited to unveil our newest game! Well, it isn't just a game .. you could say it's potentially hundreds of games!

I'm talking about Viqua Games HideNSeek, a new game service that lets you create your own hidden object game and share them with friends online. You upload your own photos as backgrounds and then choose from hundreds of objects in many categories to hide.

You can customize many things in your games such as the interface color, the text to display when the player wins, and other stuff.

You can easily share the games you create by sending the link to your games to friends, posting them on your blog, or even embedding your games on your website.

And (maybe best of all!) as a player, you will have tons of HideNSeek hidden object games to play!

We're currently in Beta so there may be some bugs remaining. We also have more features being developed. So let us know if you have any problems or have any suggestions through our contact form or by commenting on this blog post!

UPDATE: Name change! Previously this service was known as MysteryFoto, but we believe HideNSeek better describes the service. We will make sure that any old links/embeds you have to old games will still work.

hello, I really enjoyed and loved a lot the idea to create an online flash hidden object games, it really make us love HO games better.
My suggestion is: when creating a game, I think if there are more than one page it will be more appreciated and members will share their best, and it will be more enjoyable, more than one page mean that the story must be continued in one game, if u complete the first scene u can go to another one, and if there is a chance too to create a puzzle picture: to upload a picture and add it like a puzzle, thanks for all, I hope u will consider my suggestion.

Hi hicham!
Thanks for your suggestions!
As a matter of fact, we're working on enabling multiple pages per game right now.
For uploading pictures as a puzzle, that's a great idea. We'll think about it :)

this is a brilliant idea and far easier to use than clickteams 'the games factory'
will it be possible in the future for users to download their games as executable files? or ever release the HideNSeek creator as a downloadable app?

Maybe in the future, but right now we're working on other features, thanks! :)

HideNSeek: great idea! I'm promoting your site everywhere.

Would it be possible to choose between some background music?
Just a few kinds: creepy - classical - funny, for instance.

And a second wish: option to choose the language of the names of the hidden objects.
I'm very willing to translate the names into Dutch (costless, of course).

Love this new game!! Great idea. Music options would be nice. I was wondering how come people are leaving me stars, but they don't show up. Thanks!

Little beta bug: if I switch from page x - Most Played to Top Rated, the list starts not a page 1 but at page x.

Hey, I love this idea but have a couple of suggestions or wishes. If we could mirror the objects somehow, that would be awesome. There are times when I want to use something, but it faces the wrong way. Also, would it ever be possible to be able to add our own objects too?
Thanks.

Oh one other thing. When placing the objects, what are the up and down arrows for? They don't seem to do anything. Also, would love to have it where we can make the objects a lot smaller.

Fourth wish:
- only allowing hogs in "top rated" with at least 5 ratings.
- or remove list "top rated".
With only a few ratings, this topic doesn't say much. It's easy to ask some friends to rate your hog excellent and you're at the top...

Would it be possible to add our own objects? The more talented among us can do their own trimming but perhaps others can upload photos for Viqua to do the hard work, for a fee of course.

Thanks for the suggestion!

This service is a great idea.

Can we get a hint button?

Some of these guys have done a very good job at hiding their objects.

Thanks, Randy

Kudos as others have said! Lots of fun. My requests for future upgrades:
- Ability to entirely re-color objects, even if it's just some standard shapes/gems, so they can be blue, pink, yellow, brown, whatever
- The ability to size objects even a wee bit smaller than current...??
- The ability to "hide" the object list

Thanks so much; looking forward to lots of fun!

So I'm wondering why I'm seeing backgrounds from professional games on here. I am worried that you all will get into trouble by allowing members to use the resources of professional games to create their own. It's basically stealing and I know that Viqua Games is not creating the backgrounds but I think you all have an obligation to make sure they aren't stolen from a game that is currently being sold. Am I just paranoid? I think this is a great idea but I don't want to lose the fun because of people stealing other people's work and claiming it as their own. It should be fairly obvious when there is a list of things to search for within the background picture itself...

The gamers which play with me, and mine too were asking ourself if it's maybe possible for you to change the hiding objects after some times. That would make the thing more interesting.

Hi, is there a way to save the HO game you generate as a Jpg.?
